Yes, I`m alive. Just lazy, that`s all

Hello everyone,

Well I finally got the energy to come back to the internet cafe and write a blog. I always find it hard though because the blogger website is all in Japanese, so I have to guess at what I`m doing. But I digress....
Work and life here in Japan has been great so far. I`m finally into a routine at work and I love what I do. Teaching is very rewarding and my students are really fun and interesting people. I keep inviting my students out for dinner and drinks every Saturday night after I finish class, so so every Saturday so far has been an event, which sometimes leads to karaoke. One of my co-workers says I`m a really good singer, but I`d prefer to stay modest and say that I`m awful. I guess you`ll have to be the judge of me.
My days off are usually spent doing the usual chores: laundry, buying food, vaccuuming my place (it gets dusty really easily) and reading or playing computer games. Most people I know in Sendai work on Monday, my second day off, so I usually hang out with one of my co-workers. Last week my friend Emma and I went to a small town called Yamadera in Yamagata prefecture. There is a steep mountin slope with 1,015 steps to the top, and there are 6 or 7 temples all situated on the slope. The view from the top was breathtaking and well woht the effort.
Today, one of my students took a day off from work, so we are going to a famous Buddhist temple in Sendai. I wish I could post some pictures of these places, but I`ve decided not to get home internet on my laptop for a few months. I`m making do with the internet I get on my cell phone for now.
Anyway, I`d better get a move on. My time is almost up here (half hour limit on the computers, but it`s free, so I can`t complain). Take care and I`ll try to write agtain soon.
Brian

P.S. Japanese beer is better than Canadian beer. I had a bottle of Labatt last night at an Irish pub and it tasted watery (but Canadian beer is still better than American).
